Vortex
Through its SaaS business model, Vortex offers global wind measurements based on real-time calculations. The company approached us looking for a 'Nordic' design. We thought adding some German precision wouldn't hurt.
Wind power is a maturing sector. We wanted to downplay the ecological/environmental connotations and focus on the innovative and advanced technology at the heart of the company. As the core of our identity, we designed a new logo that is a combination of a vortex and a wind rose – an often used visual representation of wind conditions. To ensure coherency as the number of products on offer grows, we established a visual language for individual product icons.
We also designed the interface of the application itself, a Google-map mash-up running powerful real-time wind calculations based on user-defined geographic locations.
As the last phase of our work on the company's internet strategy, we are currently designing their corporate website.
