Architectural Prototypes is the Licentiate Thesis of Jonas Runberger, produced by KTH, the Royal College of Technology in Stockholm. We worked very closely with the book's author to create a two-books-in-one limited edition that facilitates a simultaneous reading of both projects-driven and academic research.

One book is projects-based and contains plenty of visual material, while the other is predominantly textual. Related passages in the two books are cross-referenced by means of a typographic device. We used both the sans and serif fonts of one type family to distinguish content while at the same time ensure visual coherency. A tidy three-column layout on an underlying image grid ensures legibility.
